WHAT DOES A YEAR AT THE ACADEMY LOOK LIKE?

The Academy is holistic in its structure and is designed to meet the individual where they are at. We understand that each person is at a different place in both their faith journey and the ministry area they are called to. The skills you will learn will help you in ministry, your career, relationships and as a leader.

The actual structure and delivery of Academy is relatively fluid, ensuring that your work, study and family lives are supported.

Over the year, you will learn about God’s purpose in your life; gain a solid biblical foundation through C3 College; experience prophetic words spoken over your life; spend time in reflection and devotion with God; outwork your faith through ministry opportunities and community programs; develop as a person through mentoring; and learn the practical skills of ministry.

Your learning and development will be based on five key pillars which are designed to meet you on your journey whilst helping your understanding of personal growth, and the dynamics of team and ministry.

It is God who works in us both to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.

– Philippians 2:13 NIV

C3 COLLEGE

Throughout the Academy year, you will study a variety of handpicked units through C3 College. We have intentionally chosen each unit to give you both a broad and meaningful opportunity to expand your understanding of Christian doctrine, theology and ministry.

These units will give you the skills to read and interpret the bible, answer some of your own questions about what we believe as Christians and why we believe them, as well as carry out the practical application of Church ministry.

The content is delivered via online videos watched together as a cohort, followed by a group discussion and activities.

FIVE PILLARS OF THE ACADEMY

  • In addition to your C3 College studies, we have planned a range of topic nights where you will have the opportunity to hear the testimony of others, receive the wisdom from their experience and ask any questions you have.

On these nights you’ll hear on topics like sex and relationships, managing finances, resolving conflict and having difficult conversations, communicating in front of an audience, spiritual gifts, prayer and figuring out your God-given purpose. These topic nights have been a favourite of our past students.

  • An integral part of the Academy year is to show you the value of strong and healthy mentoring relationships.

We want to equip you with the skills to be mentored effectively and to mentor others. Throughout Academy you will have access to a mentor from within our church who has been prayerfully and specifically picked to help guide you in any area from spiritual growth and bible reading to professional development and interpersonal skills. You will meet together consistently to invest in your personal, spiritual and professional growth. Like all things with Academy, the structure of how you meet is flexible to cater for work, study and personal commitments.

  • Whether it is worship, youth, production, administration, community outreach, or something else, a key pillar of the Academy program is serving in ministry within the church environment.

This enables you to put into practice what you’re learning over the course of the year. You’ll also serve as part of the C3 Team and complete a project in your given ministry area.

  • This pillar focuses on helping you to understand and use the gifts and talents that God has blessed you with.

As a part of your Academy program, you will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how God created you. This will include a look at the person God made you to be, and the spiritual gifts that He gave you.

  • You will gain insight into the leadership processes of C3 Church Hobart. This will involve being given additional opportunities which may include leading teams, running projects and participating in church leadership meetings like Team Focus and Ministry Leadership meetings.

You may have the opportunity to attend various additional leadership opportunities, both inside and outside of the movement. We are committed to supporting and guiding you as these opportunities arise.
